A sudden blizzard on 5,642m Mt. Elbrus in Russia trapped a group of seven climbers from Bosnia after they reached the summit on July 25. The team reportedly became lost in a whiteout during their descent, and five climbers died due to severe weather and high-altitude conditions.
Only the expedition leader, Haris Adilovic, managed to descend and call for help. Rescue teams faced difficult conditions, but two climbers were found alive and evacuated, while the bodies of the five deceased climbers were later located on the mountain.
