Trekking Agencies’ Association of Nepal (TAAN) recently explored new trekking trail called - Phikuri Peak Trekking Trail located in Nuwakot District. Its a Five days duration new trekking trail. It was combined cooperation with local community by Rasuwa Nuwakot Paryatan Samaj (RNPS) and is supported by TAAN.
Phikuri Peak Trekking trail is named after the picturesque Phikuri peak (3800m). The peak offers breathtaking panoramic views of majestic Himalayas including Ganesh Himal, Mt. Langtang and Mt. Dorje Lakpa. Populated mainly by local culture and tradiotion tribes of Tamang and Gurung communities, one can experience of typical Nepali village lifestyle, visit medieval Nuwakot Durbar and sheep farm and enjoy both homestay and camping experience. Along to this trekkers can explore and take an opportunity for Trishuli rafting and zipline ride. This new trekking trail need to be equally promoted and generate tourism income .
