Daily wages of Trekking guides and potters have been increased in Nepal. Trekking Agency Association of Nepal (TAAN) has held a meeting and concluded of an increment of the wages . Nowonwards from coming Fall season (Sep. 2023), the daily wages of a trekking guide be Npr.3100. This incluides his per day wages,meals, accommodation in tea houses, applicable administrative permits and fees. TAAN's secretary general Mr. Sapkota said: The last increment was commenced on 2018. Now after 5 years, as per market scenario and fulfilling basic needs this increment of wages is needed. Likewise Potter daily wages has been of Npr.2400 , Assistant Trekking guide wages Npr 2800, Assistant Guide cum Potter wages Npr 2500 as per new rule . This agreement between TAAN and Ministry of Labour, Employment and Social Secutiry of Nepal Government has been Green signal and said to be commences from coming this Fiscal year and start of Trekking season drastically.
Likwise previously the wages used to be on an around of Npr 2000 and Npr 1500 for Guide and potter . Along to this with mutual understanding between Trekking agency and clients the wages was practise in an around the same . If no guide or potter working then no trekking business is possible and do exist. So with due respect to their hard work and market updates this new increment has been in need. Annually in Everest region and Annapurna region thousands of trekkers take a visit . The wages was around the same in average . Now onwards he belives it will be implemented as per the new agreement deal in all trekking destinations including Everest and Annapurna and other destiantions like Dolpa, Manaslu, Kanchenjunga, Langtang etc.
